Full job descriptionJob Summary:
We are looking for a proactive Networking and Hardware Supervisor to manage our
network infrastructure and oversee IT hardware systems. Reporting to the IT Manager, this
hands-on role focuses on networking, hardware coordination, and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
o Administer and maintain the company’s network, including SonicWall firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless systems.
o Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance and security.
o Implement and maintain network protocols, configurations, and updates.
o Coordinate with the hardware specialist to ensure system compatibility and optimal performance.
o Oversee hardware inventory, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Documentation and Support:
o Develop and maintain SOPs for networking and hardware processes.
o Provide advanced support for escalated technical issues and assist the hardware specialist when needed.
- Certification and Cost Management:
o Monitor IT-related certifications (e.g., software licenses, hardware warranties, and vendor agreements) to ensure timely renewals.
o Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
o Support network upgrades, expansions, and security enhancements in line with IT Manager directives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with networking systems, including SonicWall firewalls, and familiarity with hardware management.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and cybersecurity practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with documentation and SOP creation.
- Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
Work Environment:
- Office-based with occasional travel to our locations in NJ. Transportation can be provided.
- Flexibility to address urgent network or hardware issues as required.
