Job Description:
The Cloud Administrator is responsible for configuring, administering, and supporting Microsoft Azure and Office 365 cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security. The Cloud Administrator supports technology staff to resolve end-user issues, maintains documentation, and manages inventory. In addition, this position is expected to stay up to date with Office 365 and Azure security trends, vulnerabilities and industry developments to proactively address issues and guide decision-making processes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
25% - Configures, monitors and maintains cloud applications. Administers IAM users and groups. Configures and maintains user access to cloud systems. Configures and monitors multiple cloud platforms. Manages the Azure active directory and virtual desktop environments, including VM hardware, software, applications and communications. Ensures hardware and software is properly updated and/or patched. Proactively monitors and remediates vulnerabilities.
25% - Supports technology staff to troubleshoot end-user issues quickly and courteously. Serves as an escalation level for complex problem resolution. Produces accurate and timely incident notices and service disruption communications. Participates in on-call rotation during extended business hours. Places maintenance calls with vendors when internal technology staff cannot resolve a problem.
25% - Creates and maintains standard documentation of system configurations, department workflows and procedures. Manages inventory of all end-user hardware, software, cloud resources and communication equipment. Follows incident management, change management and other support-related procedures. Maintains and/or implements solutions to meet audit and exam requirements.
20% - Stays up to date with Office 365 and Azure security trends, vulnerabilities and industry developments to proactively address issues. Researches and analyzes cloud technology trends for potential impact to the company’s technology strategy. Cross-trains to gain working knowledge of all system applications, business functions and priorities. Leads cloud strategy discussions and decision-making processes.
5% - Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Three to five years of relevant experience in cloud computing with a track record of successfully implementing in large-scale environments
- Deep expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure design, infrastructure implementation and transformation strategy.
- Experience with Entra ID, AVD, IAM and RBAC a must
- Experience with Intune and Autopilot preferred.
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- AZ-900 certification preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent time management, customer service and communication skills along with professional etiquette and experience handling technical support calls. Ability to collaborate with and mentor team members.
Other Skills:
- Ability to write technical documentation (platform architecture, strategy, engineering). Motivated and capable of working independently and within a team. Ability to work on concurrent, complex projects and coordinate the work of others in the cloud environment.
