System Administrator
Our client, a growing fintech firm, is seeking a System Administrator to oversee the implementation, configuration, optimization, and reliable operation of their high-performance trading platform and IT infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of their platforms and Linux/Windows infrastructure while working closely with engineering, operations, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and optimization of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Provide end-user support and technical assistance, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently while improving overall IT support processes.
- Administer backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and rapid restoration when needed.
- Implement and manage system upgrades, security patches, and performance enhancements to ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and maintain detailed IT documentation, including system architecture, operational procedures, and upgrade plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in system administration, preferably in a trading or financial services environment
- Experience with Windows and Linux environments
- Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies
- Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Networking and security fundamentals, including firewalls and VPNs
- Familiarity with monitoring tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- This is an onsite position working at the client’s Chicago office.
