will include working with Ascential’s leadership team to provide analysis and accurate reporting on key performance indicators, and business results. This role will serve as a key resource for analyzing and reporting the effectiveness of
Ascential’s processes and initiatives. As a member of the Ascential team, you will continue to reinforce Ascential’s mission of being a market leader and collaborative partner to ACP’s current and prospective Customers.
Essential Functions
- Interact with business and account management leadership to gather comprehensive reporting requirements and provide statistical data and analysis to support the request.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to help the leadership understand trends, patterns, and insights that can inform the business’s decision-making
- Understand Operational service delivery models and their unique Key Performance Indicators to drive appropriate analysis and internal and external reporting
- Gather report requirements and identify gaps requiring new methodologies to satisfy the business’s needs for information
- Communicate findings through charts, graphs, and other visual representations to make them easier to understand.
- Establish standard reporting methodologies and document reporting parameters in a Data Manual to maintain accurate and consistent reporting
- Prepare reports and presentations that clearly articulate insights and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
- Use data to identify problems, develop and propose solutions, and measure the effectiveness of interventions
- Interact with business leaders to translate reporting solutions that support new and ongoing business requirements.
The Business Analyst participates in the process including:
- Requirements definition, analysis, and design of reporting requirements
- Implementation and deployment of reporting solution
- Reporting and trend analysis
- Documentation and training design as necessary
- Demonstrates ability to strategize on report development and assist with programming questions, as well as ability to generate reports when necessary
- Respond to and provide stewardship data and analysis to support Account Managements’ stewardship and monthly reporting activities
- Identify overall reporting improvement opportunities to our internal and external customers
- Participate in Datacare meetings as Ascential’s Reporting Expert to understand business needs for requested system changes and speak to the data needs to report new benefit types, processes or services
- Identify, and assess trends for program improvements and communicate with key leadership
- Provide business data to support the enterprise’s managed care program reporting initiatives
- Provide back-up support for billing process as necessary
Job Qualifications
- College degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a workers’ compensation role
- Prefer 3-5 years’ experience in a business, QA, and/or reporting analyst role
- Technical experience in, or is willing to learn SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Job Requirements
- Able to apply technical knowledge of routine and non-routine concepts, practices and procedures of information systems and databases
- Ability to design and write queries using Sequel, Access and other report writing tools
- Exhibits advanced proficiency with MS office products, specifically Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Applies an inquisitive approach to thoroughly understand the business needs
- Able to combine logical thinking, analytics and statistics to make recommendations that will solve problems
- Is both detail oriented and a big picture thinker with a commitment to excellence
- Demonstrates strong written skills through clearly written, concise and comprehensive documentation
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Able to handle multiple tasks and deliver a complete, accurate product by the requested date
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop,
communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, and limited business travel that may include
air travel, and driving to a company location or other designated site for training, or meetings.
Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment,
etc., and may infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are
required while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
