FEDITC supports the configuration, implementation, of network infrastructure, (LAN/WAN) operating systems and computer data exchange requirements.
Overview Of Position
FEDITC is seeking a Network Tier II Engineer in the Joint Base Andrews, MD area to identify and resolve performance issues and be responsible for all troubleshooting, repairing/replacing, configuring, monitoring and upgrading of the network on both unclassified and classified systems. This position is mission essential requiring 24/7 365 days per year coverage.
Responsibilities
- Gather trend analysis data on systems, and provide input for resource planning
- Review work/installation progress for accuracy, adherence to network design, and conformance to telecommunications standards
- Provide all maintenance and documentation of ground equipment and systems on a scheduled and unscheduled basis
- Configure, customize and maintain Government-furnished network security, monitoring, and data analytic tools like Solarwinds and Splunk
- Respond to incident calls and troubleshoot aircraft to ground connectivity issues
Qualifications
- Experience as a network generalist, for example, inside plant, routing, switching, encryptor, voice, troubleshooting, datacenter maintenance and firewall operations
- Ability to lift 40 pounds in order to rack/replace network equipment
Education
- BA/BS + 4 years of experience
Certifications
- IAT II certification required
- CCNA or better
- Maintain applicable certifications as requested by FEDITC or required by FEDITC’s Customers
Clearance
- A Top-Secret clearance is required to be considered for the position.
- Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
- Maintain applicable security clearances at the level required by the client
