Regal Commodities and JJM Packaging are two fast-growing, innovative manufacturing companies with ~150 employees each.
- Regal Commodities specializes in coffee roasting, grinding, and packaging (K-Cups, pouches, bags). 10 to 15 production lines. Regal’s production is heavily dependent on Rockwell Automation technologies such as PLC’s, HMI’s and Drives.
- JJM Packaging manufactures complex powdered supplements and wellness products & packages them into stick packs, pouches, jars, and cups. 10 to 15 production lines.
We operate modern, highly automated facilities with integrated ERP systems (Plex Cloud Enterprise), Ignition SCADA, SQL databases, and networked packaging lines. We're investing heavily in digital transformation, AI, and machine integration—and we’re looking for a CTO who can bring all of it together.
The Role
We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Chief Technology Officer to oversee and unify IT, Operational Technology (OT), network infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems integration, and digital strategy across both companies. You’ll lead and align a capable team already in place, ensuring our systems scale securely and intelligently as we grow. This role is not about being a figurehead—it’s about leading a high-functioning tech team with vision, accountability, and technical fluency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the senior leader across IT, OT, security, and digital infrastructure, reporting directly to the executive team.
- Develop and execute a technology roadmap that supports business objectives, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Translate executive goals into technology solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Team Oversight & Development
- Manage a team of 5+ across IT, data, engineering, and OT disciplines across both companies.
- Set clear goals, develop KPIs, and foster collaboration between IT and production teams.
- Evaluate and support team development; help elevate mid-level managers into senior contributors.
Systems & Integration
- Lead and improve system integration efforts across Plex ERP, SQL, SCADA (Ignition), and machine-level automation.
- Oversee data architecture, ensuring high-quality data availability across systems for decision-making and AI-readiness.
- Drive connectivity between machines and business systems (e.g., IoT, MES, predictive maintenance).
Infrastructure & Cybersecurity
- Own network infrastructure design, stability, and scalability across sites.
- Lead cybersecurity strategy, compliance, and response planning, especially in light of recent threat environments.
- Implement robust access controls, data protection, and incident response protocols.
Operational Support
- Provide executive oversight for IT Helpdesk operations, ensuring internal customer satisfaction.
- Optimize software licensing, hardware procurement, vendor relationships, and system reliability.
Ideal Candidate Background
Experience
- 10+ years in progressively senior technology roles, including at least 3–5 years in manufacturing or process-heavy environments.
- Experience managing both IT and OT environments is essential.
- Proven success aligning shop-floor systems with enterprise software (ERP, MES, SCADA).
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity frameworks and network architecture.
Technical Skills (Preferred but not all required)
- Plex ERP, Ignition SCADA, SQL, OPC, industrial networking (Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
- Azure, Office 365, Windows Server, Active Directory
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in manufacturing is a plus
