Role Description
This is a part-time, remote position for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a technical background and a vision for building scalable, high-performing applications. Based in Springfield, Virginia, the CTO will be responsible for leading the development of Shayr’s software architecture and overseeing the creation of its minimum viable product (MVP).
The ideal candidate will guide the overall technology strategy for Shayr, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives and long-term vision. Responsibilities include designing and managing both front-end and back-end development, selecting the appropriate technologies and frameworks, and implementing best practices for security, scalability, and performance. The CTO may also build and manage a team of developers to support product development as Shayr transitions from MVP to full launch.

Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in both front-end and back-end software development
- Experience in IT strategy, software architecture, and project management
- Knowledge of product development lifecycles with an emphasis on MVP creation
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments
- Outstanding communication skills and a strategic mindset
- Working toward or holding a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Compensation
This is an equity-based position. The CTO will play a critical role in shaping Shayr’s technical foundation and will be compensated with equity ownership in the company.
