As a member of the Kentucky State Police Information Technology Branch Internal Support Section, you will be responsible for supporting systems and applications throughout the Commonwealth and the specialized law enforcement IT software.
Provides support and assistance to users of computer-based software applications, and provides technical assistance in problem determination. Under direct supervision, manage problem diagnosis and repair services on hardware. Installs and maintains complex software that includes system account management, cloud applications, digital evidence management, custom software, and various software packages.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
- Provide support for the specialized law enforcement IT software used by KSP personnel.
- Provide support for the KSP Information Technology systems, including software used by KSP employees and Troopers/Officers.
- Second-tier technician for all law enforcement software for the KSP employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Will report to the Information Systems Supervisor for the Internal Support Section.
- Performs support for digital evidence management and other cloud-based software systems.
- Performs standard paperwork as required; Assists the supervisor in developing documentation, procedures, and forms. And also assist in writing technical documentation and user manuals. Receives complex problem reports and resolves or refers to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Assists with and maintains the Integrated Criminal Apprehension Program (ICAP) Network._ Learns to manage system service providers with routine maintenance issues which includes providing technical assistance to other information systems staff; participates in systems recovery and provides emergency assistance to KSP and other Law Enforcement agencies statewide.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or as needed by the Agency.
- Work alternate shifts or OT (as needed).

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High School graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in IT systems administration, IT systems support, or IT systems analysis
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education in computer science, IT, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in IT systems administration, IT systems support, or IT systems analysis will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis OR a certification in an IT related field will substitute for the required education.
