Position Overview
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key member of the Philadelphia Federal Philadelphia Federal Credit Union’s Executive Leadership Team responsible for setting the strategic direction and execution of the technology vision. This leader ensures technology advances the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union’s mission of delivering exceptional member value, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting long-term growth. The CIO combines deep business acumen, modern technology expertise, and a strong member-first mindset to drive innovation, digital transformation, and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Vision
- Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to define and execute a technology roadmap aligned with the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union’s mission, growth strategy, and member service goals.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service.
- Anticipate technology trends in the financial services industry and position the Credit Union to remain competitive, compliant, and innovative.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on enterprise risk, security, and technology-driven opportunities.
Technology Evolution & Operations
- Oversee core systems (e.g., core banking, digital banking platforms, loan origination systems) to ensure performance, availability, and scalability.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, and data integration to improve efficiency and member engagement.
- Ensure cybersecurity, resilience, and business continuity practices are aligned with NCUA, FFIEC, and other regulatory expectations.
Business Acumen & Collaboration
- Align technology investments with the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union’s financial and operational objectives, demonstrating strong return on investment and stewardship of member resources.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders (Lending, Retail, Operations, Compliance, Marketing) to identify opportunities where technology enhances member services, streamline operations, and supports new product offerings.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear value propositions for executives, staff, and the Board.
Member-Facing Services & Experience
- Champion digital innovation to provide members with secure, reliable, and intuitive services across mobile, online, and in-branch platforms.
- Advance self-service tools and data analytics to personalize the member experience and anticipate needs.
- Ensure member-facing technology reflects the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union’s values of trust, community, and accessibility.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance digital channels to improve satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive role within financial services (credit union experience preferred).
- Proven track record of developing and implementing enterprise technology strategies that deliver measurable business and member impact.
- Strong understanding of credit union operations, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity frameworks, and risk management.
- Experience with digital banking platforms, core banking systems, and vendor management in a regulated environment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
