Important:
- Technicians with Data Centre experience will be preferred for this position.
- Techs with only network experience (without Data Centre operations knowledge) will not be preferred.
- Local or native US techs will be given preference, but the role is not limited to them.
Responsibilities
Hardware Installation and Maintenance
- Install, rack, and stack servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
- Perform basic component replacements (hard drives, memory, power supplies).
- Install data equipment including racks, patch panels, and cable trays.
- Use appropriate testing equipment to check installed cables and detect fiber optic breakage.
- Perform cabling installations, including fiber optic cabling.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and fiber testing equipment.
- Build and install racks, dress and terminate closets, carry out testing, and troubleshoot issues.
- Label, pull, and terminate cables as per standards.
- Use OTDR, Splicing Machine, Clever, and other tools for fiber work.
Cabling and Connectivity
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot network and power cables (fiber, Cat5, Cat6).
- Manage and organize cable runs with proper labeling and adherence to standards.
- Handle installation and termination of new cables in new/existing racks.
- Install Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cabling systems.
