About the Role
eNGINE is hiring a Middleware Administrator to join our team in New York City. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Websphere/MQ administration on mainframe z/OS who thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments. You’ll collaborate with application teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and security across key banking and financial systems.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and support MQ solutions with application teams.
- Administer Websphere/MQ on z/OS and distributed platforms.
- Configure and support queue sharing groups, clusters, channel authentication, TLS certificates, and stream queues.
- Support capacity planning, IPL, DR events, and MQ upgrades.
- Troubleshoot MQ/Websphere incidents, alerts, and CICS logs.
- Contribute to change management, disaster recovery readiness, and performance optimization.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years administering MQ in z/OS environments.
- Deep knowledge of Queue Sharing Groups, clusters, channel authentication, and TLS certificate management.
- Strong understanding of z/OS and mainframe dependencies.
- Experience with change management, incident response, and security exits.
Nice to Have
- Experience in securities or financial services.
- Familiarity with MQ application programming on mainframe.
