We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator – Advanced to join a dynamic and collaborative IT infrastructure team supporting enterprise network operations across multiple facilities statewide. This position will focus on network deployment, troubleshooting, and wireless infrastructure management to strengthen and optimize network performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on network professional with strong Cisco and Palo Alto experience, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with other IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, deploy, and maintain LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure across multiple sites.
- Monitor and troubleshoot enterprise wireless networks, including device connectivity on Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms.
- Perform wireless assessments, create and update network documentation, and maintain heatmaps using Ekahau tools.
- Support network lifecycle management, including firmware updates, security patches, and performance monitoring.
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets related to connectivity and network performance.
- Assist with network equipment relocations, upgrades, and cabling during facility changes.
- Collaborate with network security and server hosting teams to maintain compliance with organizational IT standards.
- Travel frequently to remote locations across the state for onsite support and equipment installation.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience with LAN/WLAN/WAN administration.
- 3–5 years working with Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Proficiency in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and network ticketing systems.
- Solid understanding of network and operating system fundamentals.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work on ladders as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel statewide.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Network Certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
- Experience with SolarWinds Orion and Ekahau Sidekick.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise wireless deployments and site surveys.
Education
- Associate’s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
