System & Network Administrator (Junior)
Location: On-site – Cape Canaveral, Florida

Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+, CySA+, CASP+, or CISSP); Computing Environment certification (Windows Server, Network+, or Azure Administrator preferred)
About the Role
Alliance Cyber is seeking a motivated System & Network Administrator (Junior) to provide full-time, on-site IT support and system administration across multiple secured environments. The Administrator will ensure the availability, security, and performance of enterprise IT systems while supporting day-to-day operations, maintenance activities, and cybersecurity initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- End-User Support & Operations
o Provide daily help desk and deskside support for users and managed endpoints.
o Resolve hardware, software, and network incidents and coordinate Tier 3 escalations.
o Maintain user accounts, permissions, and role-based access controls via Active Directory and Group Policy.
- System & Network Administration
o Install, configure, patch, and harden Windows and Linux systems in accordance with DISA STIGs and DoD security baselines.
o Manage server and desktop builds, scheduled backups, and quarterly restore tests.
o Support network infrastructure devices (switches, routers, firewalls) and perform basic configuration changes under supervision.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance Support
o Implement security patches and updates in alignment with RMF controls and Continuous Monitoring requirements.
o Assist with vulnerability scanning, POA&M remediation, and audit artifact collection.
o Ensure all IT assets comply with NIST SP 800-171 and organizational cybersecurity standards.
- Data Management & Secure Media Handling
o Manage classified and unclassified media deliveries and chain-of-custody documentation.
o Perform database and file system maintenance and support data integrity checks.
o Package and document secure deliverables in accordance with media handling procedures.
- Documentation & Reporting
o Maintain system logs, user support tickets, and configuration records.
o Contribute to Continuous Monitoring and Backup Verification reports.
o Support policy reviews, SOP updates, and enhancement recommendations.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Associate degree in IT or related field and 2+ years of system/network support experience; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Active Directory, PowerShell, Windows Server, and M365 administration.
o Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
o Experience with backup software (e.g., Veeam) and security tools (e.g., Nessus, Sentinel, SIEM platforms).
o Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, DISA STIGs, and RMF principles.
- Soft Skills: Strong customer service, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
