Role Description
We’re looking for a hands-on, product-driven CTO — someone who still codes daily, thrives in the trenches, and wants to own the full technical vision of a company with real mission and purpose.
This is not a “corporate CTO” position. It’s for a builder, hacker, and architect who loves solving hard technical problems, shipping fast, and scaling systems that blend AI, cloud infrastructure, and human-centered design. Understanding how AI can be used to improve engineering efficiency is imperative to the position.
What You'll Do
- Architect and build the core systems behind Kaiary - spanning AI pipelines, scalable APIs, and mobile/web applications.
- Write code daily in TypeScript, Node.js, React/React Native, and related technologies.
- Design and optimize infrastructure on AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFront, etc.) for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Integrate AI models (local multimodal models, vector storage and retrieval, etc.) into production workflows.
- Experiment constantly with AI-assisted development tools — use AI to write, test, and refactor code faster and better.
- Work closely with the founder/CEO to translate vision into technical execution, setting short- and long-term product roadmaps
What We're Looking For
- 5–10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript / TypeScript, Node.js, and React / React Native.
- Strong backend architecture skills (API design, serverless patterns, distributed systems).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) - comfortable setting up infra from scratch.
- Working knowledge of AI, (LLMs, RAG, etc.) - practical experience integrating them into apps or workflows.
- Strong product sense - can think from the user’s perspective and build delightful, high-performance experiences.
