Blackbeard Operating, LLC is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Network Administrator. The successful applicant will be responsible for the implementation, security, and administration of the Company's infrastructure, which includes LAN, WAN, Azure Cloud, and telecommunication systems. The position will include both physical and virtual server and workstation configuration and support, automated backup administration, and telecom responsibilities. The position is located in Midland, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze current technology utilized and identify opportunities to improve and or expand upon them.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to the network to meet current and future business needs.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of computer networks, including physical and virtual servers and workstations in a predominantly Windows environment.
- Maintain and monitor the network and network performance; identify problems, suggest solutions, and resolve.
- Implement and support network technologies, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, DNS, and DHCP.
- Manage virtual environment, Nutanix, O365, and Active Directory, user accounts, and system security.
- Use coding or scripting languages to address process improvement or solve specific problems.
- Plan, perform, and automate backups of servers and client workstations.
- Install operating systems, applications, and communications software.
- Set up access for remote users.
- Maintain network documentation including recording of problems and steps used to solve the problems for future reference.
- Collaborate with others to resolve, address or innovate on issues or tasks related to infrastructure, security or development.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications: Training / Coursework in Network Administration and or Computer Science.
- Desirable Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field; Current or recent CCNP certification.
Required Skills:
- Minimum Qualifications: Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or similar role; Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux; Training / Coursework in Network Administration and or Computer Science.
- Desirable Qualifications: Completed coursework / technical certifications.
Preferred Skills:
- Minimum Qualifications: Five+ years of Network Administration, IT Support experience in an environment with multiple locations; Firewall management and configuration; Strong experience in a Windows environment with O365, Active Directory, Nutanix, VMWare and VPN; 3+ years experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls; Experience with Storage Area Networks and virtualization solutions, VMWare and wireless communication protocols; Vmware Vsphere Administration, Hyper V, AHV, Azure; Active Directory Administration; IIS Administration; Database knowledge– MySQL, SQL Server; Powershell.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Azure; Experience with Office365 Administration; Sharepoint Administration.
Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; A technical, logical thought process and keen eye for detail; Ability to respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests; Ability to consult with internal and external clients on technical components.
