Position: Azure Cloud Engineer
Duration: Direct Hire Perm Role
Location: NYC , NY 10019 ( 2 days onsite, 3 days remote )
Salary: $70-$90 per hr & $150-$170 K per annum Upon Hike,
Azure Cloud Engineer to manage and optimize our cloud environment, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective operations. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Azure administration, governance, and automation, as well as strong networking and security expertise. This role is key to maintaining business continuity, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and driving efficient cloud resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Azure Administration & Governance
- Manage user and group access through Azure Active Directory and RBAC.
- Implement and enforce Azure Policy and compliance standards.
- Maintain cloud infrastructure security, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Support hybrid identity and access configurations.
- Cloud Management & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop and manage infrastructure deployments using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Implement automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines for cloud resource provisioning and maintenance.
- Manage cost and resource optimization in alignment with FinOps best practices.
- Networking & Security
- Configure and maintain Azure Networking (VNets, VPNs, NSGs, Firewalls, Load Balancers).
- Implement Network Security controls and monitoring across Azure resources.
- Work with security and compliance teams to ensure data protection and regulatory adherence.
- Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Develop and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) plans for Azure workloads.
- Ensure backup, replication, and failover mechanisms are tested and operational.
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) & Microsoft 365 Integration
- Deploy, manage, and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
- Integrate and manage M365 services, ensuring smooth user access and collaboration.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Intune for device and application management.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint Online administration and governance.
- Familiarity with hybrid environments (on-premises and Azure).
- Scripting experience in PowerShell or Azure CLI.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure administration and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of Azure governance, networking, and security best practices.
- Azure certifications preferred (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, or AZ-700).
