Global IT Service Company is seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator with strong experience in AWS cloud environments. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud-based infrastructure. You’ll work closely with internal teams to ensure system reliability, optimize performance, and automate key workflows.
Your daily responsibilities will include managing AWS resources, troubleshooting issues, supporting deployments, and monitoring system health. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based systems within AWS environments.
- Manage and optimize AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC.
- Automate infrastructure management using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or GitHub Actions.
- Develop and maintain scripts to support system automation and operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance infrastructure scalability and reliability.
- Ensure system and network security following best practices and compliance standards.
- Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
- While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift 10-25 pounds if needed. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision and hearing.
- Other duties assigned depending on various projects requirements.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Linux system administration.
- 3+ years managing AWS environments (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud security best practices.
- Experience with automation/configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Shell).
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Japanese Fluency in (Written and spoken) is a major plus
