Position Summary: We are seeking an innovative and visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join our executive leadership team. The CIO will be responsible for developing and executing our technology strategy to drive operational efficiencies, enhance customer experience, and support scalable growth in the homebuilding industry. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership, hands-on IT management, deep understanding of construction operations, and the ability to align technology initiatives with the company’s overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company’s growth plans and operational goals.
- Digital Transformation: Lead digital transformation efforts across the organization, including ERP, CRM, BIM, and other construction technology platforms.
- System Management: Oversee all IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and enterprise systems—ensuring optimal reliability, scalability, and security.
- Project Leadership: Direct the IT team in the execution of projects such as cloud migration, mobile solutions for field teams, and integration of design and construction management systems.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for technology-driven process improvements in estimations, purchasing, scheduling, design, construction, sales, and warranty service.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key technology vendors and contractors; negotiate contracts and control IT budgets.
- Compliance: Ensure company-wide IT compliance with industry standards, building codes, and data privacy regulations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, department heads, and field operations on technology investments and solutions.
- Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing IT team to support business needs and foster a culture of innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior management or CIO role.
- Experience in the construction or homebuilding industry—preferably with production homebuilders.
- Proven expertise in leading digital transformation initiatives, modernizing IT infrastructure, and implementing construction-specific business systems (e.g., ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and data protection in a construction environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale IT projects and budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills with a strategic, collaborative, and hands-on approach.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and operationally complex environment.
