As a Systems Administrator III, you will manage and continuously improve all on-premise and cloud components of Homesteaders IT Infrastructure. This role will include automating, tasks, reduce administrative overhead, including configuration variations, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities. You will work with a team to collaborate with internal teams and external technology vendors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Install, configure and test platform and software systems (servers, print servers, operating systems, Homesteaders applications, vendor applications, etc.).
- Monitor / Maintain / Update and Act as SME on Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System)
- Stay current on new technologies implemented by Homesteaders Cloud-centric initiatives and aid in the implementation of cloud-first patterns and hybrid configurations as needed.
- Monitor / Maintain / Update VMWARE ESXi and VMware Infrastructure
- Assist Security Engineers with configuration changes required for improving the overall security stance of the organization.
- Aid senior Operations and Security personnel in the configuration and maintenance of system, network, and user security authentication and authorization policies.
- Install, configure, and test application and operating system patches when appropriate.
- Assist in the install, configuration, and execution of system and network backup strategies.
- Maintain inventory and support documentation of all network and system components and applications.
- Assist in maintaining software licensing and environment compliance under the direction of senior Operations and Security personnel
- Provide functional backup responsibilities to non-cloud platform IT Operations systems and services when necessary.
- Provide support for Help Desk team personnel on problems that require escalation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 4-6 years’ experience in information services preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with Windows Server Management including Group Policy Object (GPO) Administration and Active Directoty / Azure EntraID required.
- Experience with Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) and experience with VMware ESXi & VMware Infrastructure required.
- Experience with configuration management, identity and access management, active directory, desktop virtualization, collaboration platforms and other cloud-based service
- Experience with MECM, SolarWinds Monitoring, and Splunk Management desirable but not required.
- Experience with Azure services, networking, and security concepts.
- Experience with standard IT operations frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
