A major, nationally recognized association headquartered in Chicago is seeking a visionary Azure Cloud Architect to lead a critical modernization initiative. This is a chance to step into a high-impact, influential role where you will be the chief design and standards officer for our entire application delivery model.
The Opportunity
This role is not a heads-down coding position. It's about influence, design, and defining best practices. You will be the authoritative voice guiding application teams and business leadership on secure, scalable, and stable cloud architecture.
- Define the Standard: Establish the platform standards, design patterns, and governance models for all new applications built on Azure.
- Security First: Architect and evangelize a security-first approach, with a critical focus on designing and securing high-volume APIs and endpoints.
- Influence & Guide: Spend 75% of your time on operational architecture—creating proofs of concept, engaging with business stakeholders, and presenting complex designs to drive alignment.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of deep, enterprise-level experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud architecture.
- Proven background in application development, ideally with a strong working knowledge of C# or Java.
- Expertise in designing secure APIs and high-performance endpoints.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills—you must be confident presenting architecture and guiding technical teams.
