Overview
- The IT Security Operations Center(SOC) L3 Analyst is the last line ofdefense in the SOC chain servingas the primary incident responderand as a highly skilled threathunter
- This individual will lead and workclosely with L2 and L1 analysts toidentify, assess, and mitigatepotential vulnerabilities andrespond to security incidents asneeded
Key decision rights
- Authority over L2 and L1 analystson escalation, remediation, andprioritization of incidents
- Right to maintain securityoperations policies and proceduresin coordination with the !DR Lead
- Can recommend and implementsecurity controls for IT systems incoordination with the IT team
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science,information security, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience working in a SecurityOperations Center (SOC)
- Experience handling cybersecurity incidentsand response in critical environments, and/orequivalent knowledge in areas such as;technical incident handling and analysis,malware, intrusion detection, network and loganalysis
- Advanced knowledge of security protocols,security frameworks, and security bestpractices
- Strong communication skills and the ability tocollaborate with other teams in a fast-pacedenvironment
- Experience with operating systems, networking,backup, discovery, and digital forensics
- Flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing-high stress environment
- Expertise in network engineering, networksecurity, and system administration
- Proficiency in using security monitoring andanalysis tools, such as SIEM and IDS/IPS
- Proven capacity as a as a top-tier threat and/ortriage analyst in cybersecurity operations
- Internationally recognized Incident Responsecertification (e.g., CEH, GCIH, GCIA) preferred
Responsibilities
Last line of defense in the IT SOC response chain
- Perform advanced event and incident analysis, includingbaseline establishment and trend analysis
- Serve as the lead end point of escalation for L1/L2analysts
- Remain current on cyber security trends and intelligence(open source and commercial) in order to guide thesecurity analysis & identification capabilities of the SOCteam
- Provide timely advice and guidance on the responseaction plans for events and incidents based on incidenttype and severity
- Ensures that all identified events are promptly validatedand thoroughly investigated
- Follow detailed operational processes and procedures toanalyze, escalate, and support the remediation of criticalinformation security incidents
Mentor and lead other analysts to create high impact
- Responsible for identifying training needs for the junioranalysts
- Improve and develop new content and procedures basedon observed and measured SOC activity
- Provide oversight and guidance to junior analysts andfulfill SOC manager responsibilities in the absence of theSOC Manager

Salary Pay Range
Minimum - Maximum
$80,150.00 - $148,850.00
