This role is crucial in maintaining Nomad GCS’ IT infrastructure and ensuring smooth operations across all departments. This position must utilize a blend of technical expertise and customer service skills to provide timely assistance to all staff.
Help Desk
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
- Respond to help desk requests and provide timely technical assistance to staff
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Assist staff with IT-related issues in person, over the phone, or via email.
- Educate users on basic software and hardware functionality.
- Set up new employee workstations and ensure proper equipment functionality.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
System Management
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS, etc.).
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
Network Management
- Design, implement, manage and maintain network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and firewalls.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of servers, routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
- Configure and optimize network performance.
- Install / terminate network cabling.
- Monitor network traffic and security.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
Security
- Design, implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Monitor security logs and alerts.
- Respond to security incidents.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of IT-related activities, inventory, and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and security threats.
- May be involved in planning and implementing new IT projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Knowledge / Skills Desired

Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to use hands and arms to handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
- The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.
Working Environment
- The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.
- The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.
- There is some exposure to strong odors and fumes.
- All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Graduate, diploma received. Further education is preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in Helpdesk/IT Support is desired.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent experience.
- CCNA or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance, if needed.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good time management and multitasking skills
- Must be able to work in a schedule-driven environment, as timing is a critical function to each project.
