Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to support and manage a wide range of laboratory equipment in a GMP-regulated environment. This role involves hands-on equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple buildings and controlled areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system administration tasks, including equipment commissioning and basic troubleshooting.
- Support and manage various lab instruments such as SoloVPEs, NovaFlex2s, Kingfisher Apex, LabChips, Wave Rockers, and Sartochecks.
- Onboard new equipment to ensure adherence to standards, protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Travel across multiple buildings throughout the day to support equipment and systems.
- Gown into controlled areas as needed, following all GMP standards and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with Process Sciences teams transitioning into GMP environments to ensure proper equipment control and documentation.
- Execute light commissioning tasks for equipment classified as support-impact.
- Work on approximately 320 ECNs and 70 systems as part of a phased implementation over the next 18 months.
- Develop SOPs, configuration specifications, templates, and other documentation.
- Manage older systems (up to 8 years) with limited documentation and ensure secure handling and transfer of data.
- Leverage strong interpersonal skills to partner and negotiate effectively with Process Sciences and other stakeholders.
- Maintain rigorous verification and documentation practices, particularly during periods of operational change.
Qualifications
- Experience with Biovia U Lab is highly preferred.
- Background in data integrity and pharmaceutical/GMP environments.
- Hands-on experience commissioning equipment, including direct physical interaction and functional validation.
- Strong documentation abilities, with the capability to author content independently without reliance on SMEs.
