We are supporting an incubation platform that builds and accelerates early-stage companies. This organization works directly with founders to take ideas from concept to durable, scalable businesses. The CTO will serve as the most senior technical leader across the incubator, setting the technology vision, shaping product direction, and driving execution across multiple ventures.
What You Will Do
You will define a unified technology strategy that supports both incubation and growth initiatives. You will partner with founders to architect systems, guide product design, make early technical hiring decisions, and help teams navigate zero-to-one and one-to-many scaling challenges.
You will build foundational systems spanning software engineering, AI and machine learning, data infrastructure, and internal tools used across operating companies. You will lead a cross-functional technical organization while remaining hands-on enough to contribute directly to architecture and development when needed.
Responsibilities
• Set the end-to-end technology strategy across all incubation initiatives
• Advise founders on product direction, architecture decisions, and technical hiring
• Architect shared systems, data platforms, and internal tooling used across ventures
• Drive development of AI agents, automation workflows, and vertical AI products
• Build and lead teams across engineering, AI and ML, data, and product
• Operate comfortably in both strategic and hands-on technical environments
Ideal Background
• Seven or more years of experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Founding Engineer
• Proven track record building and scaling products from zero to one and from one to many
• Experience leading high-growth technical organizations
• Ability to contribute at both the architectural and execution levels
Work Environment
This role is based in San Francisco. You will work closely with founders, operators, and early teams across the incubator. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and focused on building category-defining companies from the ground up.
