Our client is a leading telecommunications and technology provider serving customers nationwide. Based out of Dallas, they are looking to hire a Cisco Network Administrator on a Contract basis.
Contract Duration: 1 year contract (Potential for extension) 3 Months training onsite then fully remote
Required Skills & Experience
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Routers & Switches, with practical experience in troubleshooting layer 2 and 3 routing and switching issues 1 2.
- Strong knowledge of Asynchronous protocols (Async, Isochronous)
- Strong Knowledge of Synchronous protocols (X.25, HDLC, SDLC, BX.25).
- Strong knowledge of Synchronous IP Encapsulations/Communications Protocols (XOT, AEP, RBP, PAD, IP-SLM).
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting both Async, and Sync Protocols including reading Protocol Analyzer and Sniffer Traces.
- Strong Knowledge of Mediation Devices (AISwitch, AIRemote, AIScout, Datatek DT4180, Telecomp T40, and Cisco 1100TG).
- Strong Knowledge of Interfacing between Mediation and Network Elements(RS232, RS485, RS530, RS449, V.35)
- Strong Knowledge on Cabling Pinouts (DTE vs. DCE, Straight Cabling vs. Null Modem)
- Working Knowledge of Cisco Layer 2/Layer 3 Protocols and Router Configuration.
- Working knowledge of Linux Shell, TCL scripting.
- Knowledge of Central Office Equipment.
- Knowledge of ESS Class 5 switches.
- Knowledge of SNMP

- CCT (cisco certified technician)
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

- Background as a technology consultant
- Experience as a solutions architect or integrator

- Knowledge of Allied Telesys mediation devices (T40’s)
What You Will Be Doing
• Primary duties include the operation, configuration, and installation of mediation devices whose data traverses the COAN network. This network connects surveillance centers and monitoring systems to remote equipment located throughout the company.
• Additional duties include end user support for various systems connected to the COAN network.
• This position requires a very strong engineering professional.
• Familiar with routing, switching and network mediation knowledge.
• This role involves provisioning/configuration of network devices to support the migration of central office network element devices. engaging and working with AT&T on site work force and AT&T groups to track and document the moving of these elements in the central offices.
• Planning and provisioning.
• Plan deployments, initial configuring and provisioning and switch.
