CTO / Chief Architect (Robotics & Neurosurgery)
Global R&DType: Full-time + Founding Engineer
The Mission:
We are SD Medical Innovative Technologies Inc., a US-registered DeepTech startup revolutionizing neurosurgery. We are killing the joystick.
Our goal is to build a robotic assisting system with Direct Control technology — zero latency, true haptic feedback, and absolute transparency for the surgeon.
We are in the Pre-Seed stage, backed by signed LOIs from top neurosurgeons and a clear path to FDA. We are looking for a technical visionary who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.
The Role:
You will be the brain of the robot. You will own the entire control architecture — from low-level motor drivers to high-level kinematics. This is a hands-on role: you will code, solder, and test along with the team.
What You’ll Do:
Design the system architecture (Real-Time OS + EtherCAT).
Implement Direct Control algorithms (Inverse Kinematics, Impedance Control, Haptics).
Integrate high-end actuators and sensors.
Lead the engineering team (Mechatronics + Embedded).
Ensure the system meets safety standards (fail-safe architecture).
You are the one if:
You live and breathe C++ and Python.
You have deep experience with ROS 2 and Real-Time Control (QNX, RT-Linux).
You understand the physics of robotics (dynamics, PID tuning).
You are a "Builder" — you prefer prototypes over powerpoints.
Bonus: Experience in MedTech / Surgical Robotics.
What We Offer:
Significant Equity Package (1.0% – 2.0%). Be a Founding Member of the team.
Budget for high-end components (we don't use cheap servos).
Creative freedom to solve complex engineering challenges.
A key role in the Core Team with direct impact on the product.
