JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
We’re seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support Richard Bland College’s IT operations. In this role, you’ll ensure the reliability, security, and performance of Windows and Red Hat Linux servers in a VMware environment, while supporting key enterprise systems like Ellucian Banner, Canvas, and Unidata.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform OS upgrades, patches, and system performance tuning
- Maintain server security and support vulnerability remediation
- Troubleshoot issues across Windows, Linux, VMware, and enterprise apps
- Support DR planning, documentation, and implementation
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues
- Assist with cloud migrations and create/maintain technical procedures
- Manage integrations (APIs, SFTP, web services) for ERP and related systems
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of system administration experience
- Strong Windows, Red Hat Linux, VMware, and scripting skills (PowerShell/Unix)
- Experience with Banner, Unidata, Transact, Perceptive Content, Canvas
- Knowledge of CIS controls, ITIL, networking, firewalls, and database admin
- Ability to support after-hours maintenance when required
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
