ADVANCE Professor of Computing
The ISPAB's scope and objectives are to : Identify emerging managerial, technical, administrative, and physical safeguard issues relative to information security and privacy; Advise the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of Commerce and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget on information security and privacy issues pertaining to Federal Government information systems, including thorough review of proposed standards and guidelines developed by NIST. Annually report its findings to the Secretary of Commerce, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, the Director of the National Security Agency and the appropriate committees of the Congress.

Annie Antón is a Professor in and former Chair of the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, an adjunct professor in the School of CS, and holds a Business Law & Ethics courtesy appointment in the Scheller College of Business.
Antón currently serves on several boards, including:, the NIST Information Security & Privacy Advisory Board and the Future of Privacy Forum Advisory Board.
In 2012, she was appointed by President Obama to the Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity. She is a former Vice Chair of the U.S. ACM Public Policy Council. and former member of the U.S. DHS Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee, the Computing Research Association (CRA) Board of Directors, the NSF CISE Advisory Council, the U.C. Berkeley TRUST Research Center Distinguished External Advisory Board, the Georgia Tech Alumni Association Board of Trustees, the Microsoft Research University Relations Faculty Advisory Board, the Georgia Tech Advisory Board, CRA-W and the IDA/DARPA Defense Science Study Group.
Antón is a senior member of the IEEE, a ACM Distinguished Scientist.
Antón was previously a professor in the Computer Science Department of the College of Engineering at NC State University (NCSU), where she founded ThePrivacyPlace.Org. She is a three-time graduate of the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, receiving a Ph.D. in 1997 with a minor in Management & Public Policy, an M.S. in 1992, and a B.S. in 1990 with a minor in Technical and Business Communication.
