Experience:
My primary role as the corporate Cybersecurity Specialist is to maintain an effective Cybersecurity program to identify, monitor, and protect all unclassified corporate assets from various forms of cyber-related threats which includes educating the corporate leadership and employee-owners on the importance of Cybersecurity policies and practices as well as the requirements each employee-owner is expected to follow. I monitor user behavior on Torch systems and investigate suspicious activities and network anomalies that need further analysis. I also serve as a member of the corporate Insider Threat Board to communicate and investigate potential security threats from within the company. Additionally, I am the corporate representative to a national collaborative group which brings together various government agencies and Defense Contract companies to share information regarding real-time cyber attacks and observed tactics, techniques, and procedures in an effort to better protect DoD information throughout the Defense Contract industry.
I have also been given the secondary responsibility to evaluate our corporate standing in relation to the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 252.204-7012, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171 and 800-171A requirements, and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework and suggest modifications to our policies and procedures to help us pursue 100% compliance with these standards.

Cybersecurity Specialist
As the Software Assurance Team lead, it was my responsibility to ensure that software used and intended for use on Missile Defense Agency (MDA) networks were evaluated for compliance against the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) as well as various other Department of Defense (DoD) and MDA policies through both comprehensive in-depth source code analysis for custom-developed applications and thorough investigative research for applications for which we don’t have source code to evaluate. I provided feedback to development teams to offer them the opportunity to fix critical shortcomings in their applications then provided the Software Assurance Manager, the Information Systems Security Manager, and the MDA Authorizing Official a realistic review of the operational risk associated with approving the software for use on MDA systems.
