I am a privacy and cybersecurity attorney and a certified information privacy professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/C, CIPP/A, CIPM, and CIPT). My background includes product development, technology and data licensing, compliance counseling, government investigations, security incident response, and complex commercial and intellectual property litigation.
My experience includes a wide range of privacy, cybersecurity and technology-related matters, including:
- Drafting service contracts, license agreements, data protection addenda, business associate agreements, EULAs, service terms, acceptable use policies, privacy policies and similar documents.
- Implementing privacy and cybersecurity compliance programs.
- Conducting privacy and cybersecurity due diligence risk assessments for M&A transactions.
- Working with law enforcement to recover funds stolen in phishing attacks.
- Providing incident response to ransomware attacks and data breaches including management of forensic investigations, coordination with law enforcement, management of cyber insurance claims, damage assessments, advice to c-suite executives and boards of directors, and response to consumer inquiries.
- Counseling clients on compliance with US and international privacy laws, including but not limited to CCPA, HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, COPPA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, CAN-SPAM Act, TCPA, New York Shield Act, New York Department of Financial Services Cybersecurity Regulations, New York Education Law Sec. 2-d, GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and PIPEDA.

- Defending against an investigation by the US Department of Education regarding website accessibility.
