Cybersecurity - Information Security System Manager (ISSM)
Spearheaded the creation and implementation of a formal Cyber Security program for MEDCOM / Defense Health Agency (DHA) organization with over 6,000 users on Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM).
• Defense in Depth : Analyzed systems and networks in ensure that they met DOD security standards.
• Developed information processing technical standards, procedures, policies, and regulatory guidance.
• Manage the Army Information System Security Program (AISSP) and the Army Information Assurance Program.
• The lead for Cybersecurity risk management, security and contingency planning programs at an information processing organization. Manages and keeps current the Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for the enclave as well as systems using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (EMASS). This included providing the interface between the Enterprise Architect and the Information System Security Engineering as detailed in NIST SP 800-37, which RMF is based on.
• I am the RMF subject matter for the Madigan Army Medical Center RMF Enclave.
• Re-mediated 1200 eMASS POA&M Items.
• Completed annual review of RMF package to include review of policies and updated 530 controls (over 2000 assessment procedures)
• Brought User Cyber security compliance process from under 50% to 98% complaint.
• Subject Matter Expert for integrity of information/data and availability of systems and continuity of business operations.
• Member of Change Management board to reviewed directives, policies, programs, enterprise-wide functional user requirements. Evaluated acquisition strategies for programs related issues to determine the impact and implications in supporting information systems.
