I am presently a Cybersecurity Engineer Expert for Perspecta Inc. and work on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program. I deploy the CDM Solution applications to various Federal Government agencies including EPA, NSF, and SBA and work closely with agency personnel to implement the CDM solution. The CDM applications include ForeScout CounterAct, Tenable Nessus, Fuse ESB, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, Splunk, UCMDB, and RSA Archer. I was a Computer Systems Architect and Project Manager for the Department of Defense with 30 years experience. I worked effectively with many different government and commercial organizations including the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the MITRE Corporation, McAfee Corporation, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

I am a Senior Security Engineer working on the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program. I am responsible for ensuring standard security tools are integrated into existing capabilities for the 6 federal government agencies covered under the CDM program. I ensure that security tools are implemented per the NIST 800-53 security controls framework. I write and edit security related documentation for the project to include System Security Plans, tool installation documents, and compliance standards as applicable. I have extensive experience and expertise with Tenable SecurityCenter and Nessus scanners and configure policies and active scans to comply with CDM requirements for vulnerability and compliance scanning against endpoint computers. I am presently the lead security engineer on the CDM deployment to EPA and have installed, configured, and tested CDM tools at EPA to include McAfee EPolicy Orchestrator, Archer Dashboard, Forescout CounterAct, Splunk, and Fuse ESB.

I was a Senior Security Engineer working on the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina ((BCBSNC) IT support contract. I am responsible for monitoring and reporting on threats and vulnerabilities using NVD and Symantec DeepSight feeds. I perform vulnerability and compliance scanning using the Qualys cloud service. I created compliance scan policies in Qualys based on CIS standards for Windows, AIX, Oracle, and SQL servers operating in the BCBSNC network. I recently completed implementation of database monitoring and privileged identity management services using IBM Guardium and PIM appliances for BCBSNC to comply with audit findings. I work closely with the BCBSNC Enterprise Security team to understand, reduce, or eliminate IT security risks throughout the infrastructure.

I was a Computer Systems Researcher in the Information Assurance Directorate at the National Security Agency (NSA). I worked with the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) to ensure that standards are developed and implemented to ensure U.S. government computer systems are secured against unauthorized intrusion, denial of service attacks, and viruses and malware. I worked closely with commercial software vendors to research state-of-the-art technologies to implement Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) standards throughout government agencies. I provided technical assistance and create specialized SCAP content in support of U.S. government initiatives as required. I was a DAWIA Level II certified Department of Defense program manager. I held a Top Secret-Sensitive Intelligence (TSSI) clearance.
