Cybersecurity Engineer I
As a long-term intern, I get to work both on the security side and the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) side. As a member of EMF’s core Payment Card Industry (PCI) audit team, I help manage PCI requirements, collect the requirements, and submit them to the PCI auditor. I am also responsible for the operational implementation of EMF’s California Consumer Protection ACT (CCPA) policy. This includes working with the Data Science Team at EMF to process the requests. On the security side, I am responsible for EMF’s Web Application Scanning (WAS) using our Vulnerability Management service. I hold meetings twice a month with the Web Applications Team to address the vulnerabilities found. I am responsible for the monthly PCI Compliance Scans of our External Web Sites using our Vulnerability Management service. I also create exclusions for vulnerabilities found in our Vulnerability Management service. I perform email forensics to identify spam, phishing, and malicious email. I create and manage tickets. I respond to incidents in our SIEM. I participate in Tabletop Exercises to improve EMF’s Incident Response (IR) plan. I investigate USB drives that are found on EMF’s campus.
I wrote EMF’s Playbook for handling CCPA requests
I wrote EMF’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for handling a found USB drive
I wrote EMF’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for performing the PCI Compliance Scan in our Vulnerability Management service.
