About
I have held leadership roles as a program manager and functional manager in various Infosec, operations, architecture, and development teams across Information Security, Manufacturing, and IT. However, I spent the first half of my career in deeper technical roles. I find my natural fit is at the intersection between technical functions, senior management, and stakeholders, translating between engineering topics and business objectives. This has made me a strong advocate for the engineering teams under me and a competent communicator in business and strategic conversations. It is evident in my most recent role, where I was promoted to run and manage the Infosec Red Team at Intel, with a dotted line reporting structure into Intel's CISO.
Over the years, I have successfully led a wide variety of projects and teams, ranging from smaller focused red team operations and pentest engagements to implementing Infosec defensive capabilities and overseeing enterprise-wide global IT network and application development projects. Geographically, my career has taken me from Swindon, England, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, and since 2002, I have been based in Chandler, Arizona, and Folsom/Sacramento, California (current).
My professional skills and experience timeline started after college, working in application and database development, and matured through application architecture, and finally to project and people management. I have gained valuable business domain experience in Sales and Marketing IT, Logistics, Finance IT, IT operations, Manufacturing automation, and corporate Information Security.
Additionally, I had the privilege of teaching as an adjunct faculty for a semester at Arizona State University as part of a Master of Science program in Information Management.
I have strong communication and interpersonal skills, project and people management skills, all backed by an underlying passion and skills in technology.
