About
A manager recently told me my superpower is versatility. Although my varied skills and interests have led me to experiment with different roles in my career, I have always gravitated back to Information Technology (IT) and have found a happy home as a security professional in Identity and Access Management (IAM) for the past 10 years.
I find a lot of satisfaction in discovering and remediating issues and vulnerabilities and reducing risk while using my interpersonal skills to build trusted partnerships to help in those efforts.
I enjoy improving environmental hygiene and increasing object lifecycle efficiency from an Active Directory governance perspective. What does that look like in my current role? It entails detecting and reducing the number of non-compliant and non-standard objects through root cause analysis, determining and documenting requirements, updating standards to prevent anomalies going forward, and remediating what is already in the environment due to legacy practices and acquisitions.
My Myers-Briggs personality type is INTJ, and my top 5 strengths based on CliftonStrengths by Gallup are:
1. Learner (desire to learn and continuously improve)
2. Relator (interpersonal skills)
3. Achiever (satisfaction in being busy and productive)
4. Intellection (introspective)
5. Deliberative (care in making decisions and choices, and anticipating the obstacles)
In my spare time, I like listening to audiobooks. I get hooked on a certain topic and I’ll stay on that for a while before moving on to the next shiny topic that grabs my attention. I was interested in minimalism before getting absorbed in increasing productivity, then I was on to the Law of Attraction. But I realized they are all essentially about the same thing - focusing on what is important.
