Post-acquisition Anthem enterprise-level roles :
• Principal responsibility for all privacy and security-related legal issues arising in Fortune-50 health insurer, including response to major cyber-attack in January 2015 affecting 80 million individuals, privacy breach response and mitigation, FTC, HHS, State AG and other investigations, public policy advocacy and advice on privacy issues presented in business model, product and service development and systems architecture.
• Lead legal counsel for Anthem innovation and healthcare technology initiatives, including joint Anthem-IBM development of Watson for Healthcare, applying advanced machine-learning technology to oncology diagnosis and treatment. Negotiation of complex commercial agreements, and strategic management of legal/FDA regulatory issues and risks presented by joint development and commercialization of cutting-edge technology products.
