Technology is a core component in Ferguson's drive to $25 billion. As our enterprise grows and changes to reach our goals, timely and effective communications becomes more and more critical. My role, in partnership with IT leadership, Corporate Communications and in alignment with the Ferguson IT strategy is to assess, plan, develop and execute communications plans and strategies, which aim to constantly improve communications timeliness and effectiveness within the IT department and within Ferguson.
• Support Chief Information Officer and IT Leadership communications and engagement efforts in carrying out Ferguson's Technology strategy.
• Develop strategies to break down organizational and operational communications barriers and reduce gaps in awareness and access to explicit information.
• Build and execute communications plans and support Change Management for Enterprise-wide IT projects.
• Synchronize organizational messaging and establish branding standards for all IT communicators.
• Establish communications policies, such as ‘email last’ where, in the event of significant change, leaders and managers conduct face-to-face dialog with their associates prior to email notification.
• Develop technology strategies, including use of intranet portals as 'Centers of Gravity' for team-to-team collaboration.

Managed the Director’s schoolhouse communications and organizational outreach to senior leaders at U.S. Combatant Commands, Service personnel, and other Department of Defense leaders stationed in the U.S. and around the globe.
• Managed JDTC Director’s schoolhouse communications and outreach to senior leaders at U.S. Combatant Commands, Service personnel and other Department of Defense leaders stationed in the U.S. and around the globe.
• Collaborated with the JDTC Operations Officers, Chiefs of Training, Information Technology, Knowledge Management and Course Program Managers to prepare JDTC Director with adequate knowledge and tools to effectively engage with senior military leaders.
• Established customer trust in JDTC stability during DoD’s sequestration funding seizure through targeted engagements, tradeshows and conferences, which resulted in customer agreements to sustain and expand student throughput.
• Developed inter-departmental communications focus groups to build a sense of message ownership and organizational awareness of otherwise siloed communications.
• Conducted in-depth research and interviews to write the organization’s historical narrative and educate internal and external customers on the venerable institution’s past and present challenges and successes.
• Within six months of strategy implementation JDTC’s SEO results grew from two searchable keywords erms to more than 150 page-one search-engine rankings.
• Expanded JDTC SEO from a single home site to content and link-backs on 37 unique customer pages.
SEO/SEM strategy improved JDTC Web discoverability by 87 percent over four years.
Within one month of presence on DoD Intellipedia, JDTC’s wiki reached the top 200 of more than 95,000.
• Developed a proprietary Web discoverability trend tracking system at no additional cost to JDTC, which continues to serve as JDTC’s primary tool for search engine analytics.
