Significant accomplishments :
•Created a five-year strategic plan and extensive IT project list that included detailed steps to achieve : increased bandwidth, heightened security, hardware longevity, compliance, redundancy, DR and other increased efficiencies through the use of technology.
•Created IT operating budget and forecasted budget five years out.
•Implemented an entire managed network, removing 75+ unmanaged switches and personally configured and installed Cisco layer two and three switches.
•Through virtualization and network segmentation, created an entire test environment. Eliminating installation of application and database upgrades/patches directly to the live environment.
•Prepared network for VoIP telephone system. Planned, budgeted, managed and directly executed many of the tasks for this project which included extensive network infrastructure improvements including : nearly 100 Cat6 data drops, removal of switches/hubs and new outdoor fiber installation between building locations.
•Set up dual internet connections at both internet facing locations and installed Cisco routers to utilize dual WANs and failover.

Position included responsibility for implementing and maintaining all aspects of Information Technology operations of the entities making up Carolina Adventist Retirement Systems. Position included managing complex projects, management and oversight, system security, stability and availability in a 24x7 environment.
•Responsible for all aspects of IT operational management, including budget, contract and vendor management, short and long term strategic planning

•Responsible for all aspects of telecommunications including cellular, local service, long distance, toll free, IP telephony and video conferencing

•LAN/WAN support and device configuration and management (all Cisco managed switches, routers and wireless access points)
Significant Accomplishments :
-Single-handedly spearheaded 66,000 square foot new construction project. Responsible for all technology related aspects of the new building to include : Reading blueprints and modifying design based on technology needs, placing over 200 data ports, designing server room and all remote telecom rooms, placed all wireless access points, wall kiosks and their mounting (with specific regard to aesthetics), all telecommunications, televisions, CCTV system and camera placement, fiber connectivity to other buildings on campus and video/intercom door release system.
-Solely planned, budgeted, managed and assisted in the execution of two new VoIP telephone system installs. Both projects included extensive network infrastructure changes. Configured all networking equipment (Cisco 2960’s), managed cabling contractors for inside and outside cabling needs, to make LANs and WANs stable for VoIP communications.
