About
As a child in the 4th grade I was fortunate to have been exposed to the magic of technology behind the monochrome screen and keyboard of my very first personal computer, an Apple II plus. I witnessed the growth of computing and technology from those years to the present and made a career of my love in how technology can transform and enhance our lives, disrupt industries and build bridges to bring the world closer together. Our lives are evolving as a result of technology and the digital transformation that is enabling everything to become connected from anywhere, anyplace and at any time.
While there are so many positives and even more yet to be realized by the contributions of technological innovation there are also bad actors (cybercriminals) in the world who are using technology to stifle all this advancement and productivity we are striving towards. The networks we use to transact and communicate should be trusted and safe. The devices we use to connect to the networks should be free of malware and our data should not be taken hostage by ransomware.
I am passionate about security and about preventing cyberattacks and cybercriminals from disrupting and damaging the network communities that we live in and that support our way of life. Supporting tier 1 carriers/SP’s that provide the majority if not all of the transport of mobile and internet traffic is where I’ve focused my career. Every day I am learning and understanding where the network is vulnerable and where security is necessary to prevent and detect malicious activity.
I am fortunate to work for the largest and most innovative cybersecurity company in the world, Cisco Systems. Cisco is fighting cybercrime with an automated and integrated platform coupled with the world’s largest threat intelligence team and feeds. We are using analytics, machine learning and AI to provide valuable insight and prevent/detect/remediate cyberattacks while improving security posture.
