Experience:
I have recognized industry trends for information security client requirements and developed a strategy with senior management to implement them prior to client demand . These include AICPA SOC 2 attestations, ISO 27001 : 2013 certification and compliance with U.S. Government NIST SP800-171R1, Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations.
As a customer facing security professional, I integrate with the enterprise and government sales team to complete Requests for Proposals explaining Gallup's security posture. In the past year I have successfully assuaged security concerns of Fortune 500s in multiple industry verticals through written correspondence, in-person meetings and teleconferences , including those based within the European Union resulting in over $30 million in new client contracts for 2017.
Crafted corporate information security policies and procedures meeting NIST and ISO guidance, shepherded implementation across the enterprise and developing audit methods to ensure compliance.
Updated the senior leadership including the Audit committee to the effectiveness of the Information Security program with 17 quarterly security reports and three audit committee presentations. Increased insight with increased use of security metrics.
Researched, implemented and helped conduct initial parallel Disaster Recovery test and annual tests thereafter.
Increased security awareness company wide by creating a new internal security blog, Learn@Lunch sessions about information security for Gallup's employees and custom learning course development of general information security topics as well as secure code development.
