Tas Jalali is a cybersecurity leader with over 17 years of experience, having worked with both startups and Fortune 500 companies. His expertise lies in information security, compliance, and privacy, which he aligns with broader business strategies. Tas excels in building strong security teams, ensuring secure product development, and meeting regulatory requirements. He is known for simplifying complex technical information into effective security policies and risk management. His leadership roles have spanned McAfee, Network Associates, Qualys, and Securenode. Tas also co-founded Smashon Inc, an online health and wellness platform.
Currently, he leads the cybersecurity practice at AC Transit and holds the position of Chair for Emerging and Innovative Technologies at APTA. Tas is an active speaker at cybersecurity conferences, passionately advocating for cybersecurity awareness in the transit industry. He is also part of the CISO council of North American transit agencies.
Tas holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the National Institute of Technology and a Master's in Information Technology from Harvard University. He also possesses professional certifications as a CISSP, CISM, and CEH.
