As a WGU Program Mentor I serve a critical advising and support role for student success and provide students with personalized one-on-one support from the very first day in their program through graduation! Program Mentors shepherd students through their academic journey. I am responsible for providing highly engaged, student centered support to a caseload of undergraduate students. Providing resources, removing roadblocks, inspiring & developing, and building levels of trust with my assigned students.
Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to the following :
-Building student relationships and provide curricular-informed mentoring.
-Providing direct, comprehensive program guidance to assigned students.
-Managing students' academic progress according to university policies.
-Scheduling students' use of learning resources and degree assessments.
-Maintaining appropriate documentation of all academic transactions while utilizing Salesforce for tracking student contact, and reporting weekly to the program manager.
-Maintaining regular communication with students according to university protocol.
-Tracking student participation to meet benchmark goals throughout each term.
-Be well versed in the use of technology tools.

Formerly as Director of Information Technology and Chief Security Officer I worked for a 501c3 non-profit that provide mental health, alcohol and drug addiction rehabilitation services for a 290-member workforce serving 14 locations in Toledo and the Four County Area. I was responsible for the complete oversight of the company’s IT Infrastructure and cyber-security program. The duties include : managing a three-member team, providing IT resources, electronic account creation, critical backups, and ensuring business assets are available, and adequately protected. I managed multiple IT Projects using IT best practices, to include contractor vetting, budgeting, planning, designing, and implementing all project phases through completion. I implemented new technologies and opened new facilities under aggressive timelines within budget and on-time. I have Acquired IT Health Grant funding and ensured company IT policies and programs met and complied with local, state and federal compliance laws.
