Mr. William Poole is the International NATO, South-East Europe and Balkans Cyber Engagement Officer serving Headquarters, United States European Command (ECJ69) implementing European Theater cyber and information assurance programs. He has held numerous positions ranging from Intelligence Information Network Security Manager to lead Senior Information Systems Engineer for Computer Sciences Corporation.
Additionally, he has spent a large part of his career providing subject matter expertise, developing and enforcing Information Assurance policy and technical solutions, advising, recommending, and developing policies, plans, and courses of actions to support Information Assurance activities and operational requirements for the Department of Defense.
Mr. Poole is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds industry certifications to include ISO 27001 Lead Auditor Certification, Certificate in Electronics Technology, Microsoft Certified Professional and others.
He has witnessed the Information Assurance field grow and develop and he is a firm believer in the global necessity of sharing, collaborating and coordinating with partners and allies on cyber defense and information assurance/network defense issues.

Led teams of international coalition cyber security professionals during world’s largest interoperability and integration communications/cyber exercise – “Combined Endeavor.” Ensured protection of high target joint/coalition networks and systems against threats and ensured compliance with cyber security/information assurance best practices, policies and procedures. Advised, planned and coordinated implementation of cyber security/network defense strategies, policies, tactics, techniques and procedures to protect the networks and systems against compromise.
Designed, developed and executed an internationally recognized cyber security awareness and training and collaboration program - “Cyber Endeavor” - utilized by 40+ NATO and Coalition partner nations, allies and organizations.
