IT Delivery Tools Lead – Contract Role

Overview
We’re looking for a senior-level IT Delivery Tools Lead to support a strategic IT tool rationalization initiative for a state government client. This is a hands-on, consulting role designed for someone who can assess, streamline, and align critical ITSP tools—including SCCM, Intune, CrowdStrike, BeyondTrust, and Qualys—to reduce redundancy and improve compliance and integration across departments.
Your work will directly support the modernization of the client’s technology environment in alignment with security frameworks such as Zero Trust and NIST, while driving long-term operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead discovery workshops with various IT departments to document current tool usage, technical gaps, and licensing models
• Develop assessments and documentation for tool overlap, regulatory fit, and lifecycle maturity
• Recommend rationalization decisions and tool governance plans
• Deliver key artifacts such as:
• - ITSP Tool Inventory Workbook
• - Functional Use Case Matrix
• - Redundancy Heatmaps
• - Compliance Gap Assessments
• - Rationalization Matrices
• - Decommissioning Roadmaps
• - Governance & Lifecycle Checklists
Ideal Experience
• 10+ years of IT consulting or engineering experience
• Deep experience with Microsoft infrastructure and Azure tools (SCCM/MECM, Intune, ADFS, Azure Policy, Log Analytics, Sentinel)
• Strong familiarity with public sector environments and security frameworks (NIST, CJIS, HIPAA, PCI)
• Experience with endpoint protection, patching, configuration monitoring, tool lifecycle planning, and workflow documentation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical workshops
