LigaPay™ is a blockchain-powered decentralized financial super app, developed by Liga Techs, Inc. Based in Memphis, TN, we are building an ethical and globally scalable platform that brings together P2P payments, global remittances, cryptocurrency trading, and fiat on/off ramp solutions, along with robo-advisory, auto-investing, and more.
We are at an exciting inflection point: our MVP is nearly launch-ready, we are engaging with banking partners, and we are preparing for a pre-seed round. Now, we are looking for a visionary technical leader to join as CTO & Co-Founder to drive LigaPay™’s next phase of growth.
Compensation: This is an equity-first co-founder role. You’ll receive a meaningful equity stake (with standard vesting) for your contributions at the founding stage. Once our pre-seed round closes, this role will convert into a full-time salaried position with competitive pay, while retaining your equity ownership.
Role Description
This is a full-time, flexible role (hybrid in Memphis, TN, or remote with occasional travel). As CTO & Co-Founder, you will:
- Define and lead LigaPay™’s technology strategy and execution.
- Oversee product architecture, blockchain wallet design, APIs, and partner integrations.
- Build and lead the engineering team from the ground up.
- Ensure compliance and security (Onfido, Chainalysis, SOC2 readiness).
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to align technology with business, compliance, and go-to-market goals.
- Drive continuous innovation in decentralized finance solutions.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly skilled in software development, product development, and blockchain/Web3 architecture.
- Experienced in IT strategy, project management, and API integrations.
- Knowledgeable in crypto wallets (custodial and non-custodial), DeFi protocols, and payment infrastructure.
- A strategic leader with the ability to build and inspire technical teams.
- Strong in communication and collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on expertise).
- Previous startup or co-founder experience is a plus, but not required. Drive, vision, and execution matter most.
