Systems Administrator – Contract to Hire / Hybrid (2–3 days in NH)

Job Summary:
Working under the direction of the Information Technology Technical Manager, the Systems Administrator will configure, install, maintain, and support hardware, software, and IT infrastructure. This role ensures that servers, network segments, storage, databases, middleware, personal computers, mobile devices, and associated software work together efficiently. The Systems Administrator will conduct technical research, implement system upgrades and patches, manage change control, perform backups and recovery, respond to user-reported issues, and implement security measures to protect core infrastructure. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule (2–3 days on-site in NH).
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot technical issues, monitor systems, analyze performance, and perform preventative maintenance.
- Install software, catalog files, and perform backup and recovery functions.
- Provide support for complex computing platforms and shared technology environments.
- Identify technical requirements, assess risks to existing infrastructure, and support the development of the organization’s technology roadmap.
- Collaborate with IT operations to evaluate, implement, and roll out infrastructure platforms, as well as transition application systems from development to production.
- Ensure IT infrastructure remains operational, secure, and properly maintained.
- Respond to system issues, including after-hours support as part of the on-call rotation.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and workflows.

- Internal: Co-workers, employees, managers, administration, and physicians.
- External: Associated physicians, vendors, and service providers.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, able to quickly grasp complex information, prioritize tasks, and work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, managers, technologists, and non-technical staff.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and implementing software version changes; monitoring system performance using utility tools and master consoles.
- Knowledge of systems design, configuration, and security principles.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure.
- Relevant technical certifications are preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Science, or related field preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Moderate noise levels, occasional long hours, and periods of stress.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects or controls, and communicate effectively.
- Occasionally required to sit, reach, kneel, or stoop; rarely crouch or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
