The IT Systems & Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, deployment, and hands-on administration of the organization’s entire IT infrastructure. As the sole IT professional, this role encompasses server and network architecture, cybersecurity, systems administration, cloud services, and end-user support. This role ensures that all IT operations support organizational growth, regulatory compliance, and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Network Management:
- Architect, implement, and maintain core IT infrastructure including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VLANs, wireless access points, and VPNs.
- Manage network segmentation and security policies across multiple buildings and user groups.
- Administer routers, managed switches (Ubiquiti), and surveillance systems.
- Oversee server and rack equipment, power planning, and fiber/copper cable infrastructure.
Server & Systems Administration:
- Maintain Windows Server environments including AD DS, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, RADIUS, and file/print services.
- Manage Hyper-V virtualization platforms, VM replication, backup integrity, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure robust system patching, monitoring, and security hardening aligned with industry best practices.
Microsoft 365 / Cloud Services:
- Administer Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Implement and manage security measures such as phishing filters, external sender tagging, and conditional access.
- Coordinate cloud service integration and automation as needed.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Enforce security protocols in alignment with ISO 27001 and NDAA compliance.
- Monitor threats, review logs, and respond to suspicious activity or incidents.
- Coordinate backups and retention policies for system state and file-level data.
Project Management & Facilities Coordination:
- Serve as IT lead for construction projects and vendor management during facility expansion.
- Oversee security camera placement, network drop planning, IDF/MDF layout, and access control deployment.
End-User Support & Training:
- Provide responsive, professional support to internal users at all levels.
- Document procedures, create training guides, and onboard new technologies.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems, or operations roles.
- Experience operating as a sole IT resource or in a small team environment is strongly preferred.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V.
- Hands-on experience with Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, site-to-site VPNs, and firewalls.
- Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Backup systems (Windows Server Backup, QNAP, etc.) and disaster recovery principles.
- Scripting (PowerShell preferred), Microsoft VBA, and workflow automation.
Preferred Certifications (not required):
- CompTIA Network+, Server+, Security+, or Linux+
- Cisco CCNA
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or M365 Fundamentals

Working Conditions:
- Primary work location is onsite in a manufacturing and office environment
