Lead System Administrator – Salina, KS
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm, occasional after-hours/weekend work as needed
Job Summary
An established IT, security, and managed services provider in Salina, KS seeks an experienced Lead System Administrator to join its respected team. The company supports both residential and commercial clients, with expertise across a broad range of IT and security disciplines. Key Responsibilities
Install and configure software, hardware, and administer networks.
Monitor system performance; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructures for diverse clients.
Oversee client migrations to new platforms; train staff on new systems.
Maintain managed IT solutions, guiding clients through the sales process.
Manage network servers, backup systems (NAS), remote tools, and Active Directory.
Develop systems documentation and internal technical resources.
Troubleshoot outages, monitor performance, and issue monthly reports.
Maintain security via access controls, firewalls, backups, and ransomware protection.
Handle sales and B2B prospecting when project schedules allow.
Develop and maintain technical and client process documentation; ensure all notes are stored securely.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and communication excellence.
Some work may require travel to client sites, use of ladders/lifts, and occasional night/weekend shifts.
Ideal Candidate
BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent
Certifications (e.g., MCSA) a plus.
Proven, relevant experience as a Systems or Network Administrator (minimum 1 year required).
Experience with managed services (MSP), systems setup, repair, and troubleshooting.
Familiar with system cybersecurity, patch management, and data backup/recovery.
Working knowledge of Microsoft systems, networking, and associated platforms.
Resourceful, strong problem-solver, organized, and excellent communicator.
Must be comfortable in both technical and customer-facing settings.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environments as needed.
Valid driver’s license and clean record; must pass pre-employment screenings
