We are seeking a skilled Cyber Operator to support and help optimize a client’s vulnerability management program. This role involves exercising independent judgment in assessing vulnerability applicability, maintaining asset and data integrity, and ensuring consistent execution of established security processes. The Cyber Operator collaborates across business units, contributes to documentation and reporting, and supports process improvements that enhance the overall effectiveness and compliance of the vulnerability management program.
Responsibilities Include
- Administer and oversee execution of the client’s vulnerability management processes in alignment with established workflows, timelines, and organizational policies.
- Review and evaluate vulnerabilities to determine applicability across assigned business units or asset groups, applying analytical judgment to prioritize remediation activities.
- Partner with business unit representatives to confirm ownership, facilitate the development of action plans, and ensure timely mitigation of applicable vulnerabilities.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and compliant asset information within the vulnerability management platform, ensuring data quality supports decision-making.
- Conduct periodic reviews and data integrity checks to identify and resolve inconsistencies, exercising discretion in determining corrective actions.
- Coordinate manual verification or data collection for assets and applications not covered by automated scanning, ensuring alignment with security standards and operational requirements.
- Utilize the custom vulnerability management platform to manage records, update statuses, and document communications, ensuring traceability and accountability.
- Identify and escalate complex or non-standard issues requiring senior review, providing clear analysis and recommendations for resolution.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, best practices, and operational guidance to enhance program consistency and effectiveness.
- Participate in program and leadership meetings to provide informed status updates, present data-driven insights, and recommend process or system improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a professional environment or a combination of relevant experience and completion of a cybersecurity boot camp
- Proficient in applying cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and best practices.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to leverage AI tools and independently use and refine prompts to enhance the quality, efficiency, and insight of regular work processes.
- Preferred Skills
- Cybersecurity related certifications (Network+, Security+, CySA+ or equivalent)
Education
- Associate Degree required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
