About the Role: IT System Administrator (Consultative & Technical)
You’ll serve as a consultative, client-facing engineer responsible for supporting desktops, servers, cloud platforms, and network environments across a wide range of industries.
This is a hybrid role combining hands-on technical work, escalation support, and onsite client consulting, perfect for someone who enjoys variety and direct interaction with end users and small-business leaders.
You’ll work both remotely and onsite throughout Northern VA and DC, providing higher-level support and helping clients maintain stable, secure, efficient environments.
What You’ll Do
- Provide onsite and remote support for desktops (Windows & Mac), servers, and network devices
- Troubleshoot escalated issues across hardware, software, and connectivity
- Support Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, permissions, and user administration
- Perform firewall and switching support and configuration
- Support virtualization technologies including Hyper-V and VMware
- Work within MSP tools (PSA, RMM, documentation platforms)
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers on complex escalations
- Deliver a consultative, client-first support experience at all times
What You Bring
- 3–7+ years experience in an MSP or multi-client IT services environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows environments
- Hands-on M365 support and administration experience
- Experience with firewalls, switches, and networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with virtualization (Hyper-V / VMware)
- Experience using PSA/RMM tools (ConnectWise, Kaseya, IT Glue, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Azure is a plus
- Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with end users and leadership

Compensation
- $70,000 – $80,000 depending on experience.
